The successful candidate will be employed under a regular employment contract.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term up to 31.12.2027.
The fixed-term employment is possible as it constitutes one of the fixed-term options of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (German Act on Fixed-term Scientific Contracts).
This is a part-time position (50 % of the standard weekly hours for full-time employees).
The salary is based on the German public service salary scale (TV-L).
The position corresponds to a pay grade of EG 13 TV-L.

Unser Profil

The Chair of Technology and the Individual is part of the Department of Human, Technology, and Society. Its main areas of research and teaching include media psychology, human-technology/robot interaction, and artificial intelligent systems.

The position is offered within a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The BMBF-funded research project SoPrivAdo investigates how different social situations influence adolescents’ privacy decisions. The goal is to support them in maintaining control over their personal data and exercising their right to informational self-determination, even under social influences in shared technologies.

Ihr Profil

• Above-average university degree (Master degree or comparable) or PhD in psychology, HCI, or communication science
• In-depth knowledge in one or ideally several of the following areas: privacy in human-computer interaction, media psychology, social media research
• Interest in interdisciplinary research questions at the intersection of psychology and computer science
• Experience in planning and conducting experimental (online) studies and their statistical analysis
• Experience in planning and conducting qualitative interviews and their analysis
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Additionally, you demonstrate a high level of responsibility, motivation, teamwork, self-organization, and strong communication skills

Ihre Aufgaben

You will work at the chair on research tasks within the BMBF project SoPrivAdo. This project focuses, among other things, on empirical studies of adolescents’ privacy decisions as well as the development and evaluation of a serious game. Your responsibilities include:
• Experimental (online) studies on privacy decisions, considering social group norms
• Qualitative interviews on privacy decisions, considering social group norms
• (Statistical) analysis of study results
• Publication of project results in journals and/or presentation at international conferences
• Public outreach/event planning within the BMBF project to communicate results to the interested public
